Work of Art
Lying figurative and emotional dramas
Bigger than the air we breathe - a moving piece of art
Is it love?
Drifting in the air away, away
A work of art when it sleeps
It’s a work of art - like you
And so your golden curls will shine so bright
And your love for lips will be for mine
A work of art when you sleep
A work of art when you’re on your feet

15 Second Mood

Dream down as if you’re mine and fools miss the emergency in lost time
On a run of secrets down the street
Our hearts always seem to meet
My time’s up, falling ‘til I’m down
With our candle flame painting a round sun
So sure this theme would never lose its song

And I don’t even care to hear about bad news
And all we know,
Is how out hearts can grow
Through the cold

Warmest hearts are taken down below
So, no vacancy is founded in my heart
‘Cause you’ve moved in never to depart
In line, city lights of home
Street lights the way of hope
So far to show me where you are

Deadline

Another place to hide my deadline
Hope you’re leaving me in vain
Hand all the pain keeps me defying
And all the rain kept me denying
I can’t seem to breathe
And I can’t seem to sleep
So I just want to try and be with you
Tonight and I try to love this so
You know the center of my eyes
You know everything of me
Perfect, complete understanding

Radio's In Tune

The radio’s in tune playing that old song
Another best breath I take for you

And to this day I hope that sometimes I’d be safe
With my hands up in the air waving at the light
I’m mine again
Time, my friend

I wanted to share all the thoughts here in my head
But somehow they disappear alone in my bed
I couldn’t dream of tomorrow
And I couldn’t wait for another day

Had to say my say and I had to learn to pray
I’m fine today, I’m out of line...
And sometimes I just wanted to be on my own
Another dream that was willing to die
Can you wait a second, I have to go away
I have to try to find a place here under the sun
A place in my heart and a home in my head

The Second Day

Followed my roads home, reading that old paperback
Curved to the side, and in my heart my hands learnt to fly
Sometimes I would sit and try to hide from the sun in the east
Some days I could, but it always found me there

Had to walk the other day, had to learn to play
Had to go somewhere, somewhere but here
I just need to go and say goodbye again
So I did, but my tongue didn’t know what to say
Help my breath, but for a second, the second day in May

The Bitter Batter

Another heart was broken
Now my work of art that wonders
The Bitter Batter that now shakes
To see another face
And all is swell here with me
And my hope is up from wondering
The man and his cat
That sits here by me
Talking about faith
She took my heart
Even with a stain
Wish I could trace her
With her face on my sleeve

Bends Needles

There’s a man with a gun in his hand
He smells of suicide
Got a call for them all
Over here in the other side
He bends needles to this
Sings a song just to forgive
He bends needles to this
His little safe place

Bend down, break your back
Call back another time
Got a dime for a lie
But he swears somehow he’ll be fine
He runs far to hide but
He’s always seen where he wasn’t
He runs far to hide but
He’s ok

Good God, believe, he’s always there and somehow I guess that’s not always fair
Spin back, black hole, deep down I have a soul, oh no
Cherry lips, inner hips, sell a kiss for a chance to see you there

Warm Body's Eyes

Warm body’s eyes move, seem to look for a blessing here in the sun
So they followed me until the end of my days and back again.

So they know, so they know... Almighty me...

Please bless this soul cause, I’ve been hoping so hard just to hear from you
And don’t promise me that you will ride a wave just to follow me...
You know that’s not fair.

Bless this soul, bless this soul... Almighty fear.

Rivers divine, so close, I can hear them call at night
Shivers in time, so hard I fail to see the truth in me tonight
And you placed this home here in my heart, gave me strength when I might
Run to hide out of sight.

My Love

Oh my love, this poem would make no sense
If only you could read it back to me
A summer wind blows through the rain
Wish you could see just what it made tonight
It cleared up to help me out
That saving hand God left to right
Let’s see, what you get?
Let’s believe in you and me...
Mary cries in her sleep, the same time - afternoon,
It’s way too early, can’t you see?
The sun shined there for you
But you’re right and I’m wrong
And still I’ll keep a dime for you, honey, to find your way home
Wish I could use it just to call you the hour of late
So, are you fine?
Or should I call back some other time?
Are you home thinking of me, lady?
Or don’t you spend your time alone?
Another question I have to you...
You wanna marry me some time tonight?
