Exclusive Q&A with Paz Lenchantin

After the release of A Perfect Circle’s debut album, Mer de Noms, everything just snowballed from thereon, to the point where it became one of the most popular acts of its time. As a founding member, did you ever expect A Perfect Circle to reach the level of success it did?
It was the most exciting experience that completely changed my life! You can never expect anything but when we played together there was no question in my mind that it was huge.

I read that you did work on the Miami Vice production with director Michael Mann. Tell us about your experience.
I am a big fan of Michael Mann, so it was an honor to work with him. He heard my solo work (SONGS FOR LUCI) and asked me to play on a couple of scenes.

How long have you been hosting for M-TV Denmark for, and what do you love the most about it?
Well I’ve been the host for Headbangers ball for about 6 months now, and we’re about to launch a new show, that will be strictly ROCK. All kinds: new, old, punk, alternative, and everything in-between. I’m very exited about that. What I love most about it is that I get to be my own boss, write my own stuff, do my own playlists (means that I’m the boss of whatever gets played on my shows) and write my own interviews. Plus I don't have to do interviews with people I don't want to.

Exclusive Q&A with Jarppi
of the Dudesons

Up until very recently, very little South Africans even knew who The Dudesons were, had their names been mentioned during some random chit-chat, or whatever. ‘The Dudesons?’ you might be asking yourself right about now. I know…it’s tragic really. Not even knowing who The Dudesons really are. I used to be one of them. But don’t worry. I’m here to fix everything.

I managed to get a hold of The Dudesons and was pretty stoked when Jarppi agreed to answer some of my questions! Pretty damn awesome! The rest of group consists of Jarno, Jukka, HP and Britney - their pet pig.

If you still have absolutely no idea who I’m talking about, then let me break it down for you: The Dudesons are a group of performance artists/stuntmen hailing from Finland, and if you don’t know where Finland is, then go check it out in an atlas. It is way up north and I hear it is pretty cold up there!

The Whitechapel Horror

As she disappears into the choking fog, a dark figure appears in her view, from the Bucks Row’s side. She approaches the man and offers her services by “displaying the merchandise”. She walks right up to the man and tries to seduce him, as best she can, fighting to maintain her composure. She touches the man on the shoulder, but the man only looks at her from under the brim of his hat, seemingly uninterested. But Polly is a desperate lady. She moves in even closer, pushing herself up against him. She again offers herself to the dark stranger…this time he accepts.

“…The whole of the surface of the abdomen and thighs was removed and the abdominal cavity emptied of its viscera. The breasts were cut off, the arms mutilated by several jagged wounds and the face hacked beyond recognition of the features. The tissues of the neck were severed all round down to the bone…”

The 411 on MazeWorldWide.com

If it’s your first time here in the Maze - welcome! And if you’ve been here before - what do you think? Yes, as promised, a brand new look, MazeRadio and some of the hottest new metal outfits South Africa has to offer!

“So…what the fuck’s up with this site?”

Well, MazeWorldWide.com was born in the Summer of 2003 when we realised that metal was seriously being neglected on our local music scene. We got sick of listening to the same old shit on the radio every single day! What concerned us even more was the fact that metal bands (good metal bands) seemingly had to be satisfied with leftovers all these years…

Sure the music industry is based on sales, we understand that, but why toss away an opportunity?

We created MazeWorldWide.com as a fan-site for S.A. metal, but soon realised our true calling. Yes, we know the name might sound a bit extreme, but it’s all about thinking outside the box! Hell, we want to tear that fucker apart! We want to go out there and give a “face” back to the S.A. metal scene. We still create Band Portfolios for anyone interested and are now also giving you guys a chance to be heard with MazeRadio!
Bands within the Port Elizabeth area are more than welcome to arrange personal meetings with us. Visit our contact us page for further information.

And the rest is self-explanatory.

Welcome to MazeWorldWide.com
